How it works

When you click Generate recipe, your pantry list and preferences go to the same AI model that powers the AI Lab — Kimi K2 via NVIDIA's free inference tier. The model returns one specific, complete recipe in a structured JSON format (recipe.v1): ingredients you have vs. need to buy, numbered steps with durations and tips, technique callouts when there's something worth teaching, a nutrition estimate, variations, and chef tips. Your pantry input and most recent recipe are stored in your browser under aiapp.recipe.v1 — no account, no cloud storage.

The model is told to be specific (real measurements, real temperatures), to respect dietary restrictions strictly, and to fit the recipe inside your time budget. If you list mostly condiments, it'll suggest a recipe and put primary ingredients on the shopping list — useful for "what should I cook with what I'd need to buy a few things for?" scenarios too.

Honest caveat: the nutrition estimate is rough. The recipe respects your stated dietary restrictions, but if you have a severe allergy please verify every ingredient and substitution against an authoritative source. The model can't know your specific brand of stock or sauce — read labels.
